Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started
Is this site free?
Yes. Reading builds and guides, planning on the passive tree, the database, the price tables, the loot filters and the tier list all cost nothing. Ads pay for the site.
Do I need an account?
Not to read. Builds, guides, news, the passive tree, the database and prices are all open without signing in. An account is what lets you save and publish a build of your own, favourite what you want to come back to, and track a build you are playing.
How do I sign in?
Use the Sign in button in the header. One account covers both games on InfinityBuilds, so signing in happens on the main site and brings you straight back to the page you were reading. You can continue with Discord or Twitch, or use an email and password.
How do I turn the ads off?
Ads are what keep the site free, and leaving them on genuinely helps. If you would rather browse without them, subscribe to Mekuna on Twitch and sign in with your Twitch account, or link it to the account you already have. The subscription is picked up automatically and ads stay off while it is active.
Why is some text still in English in my language?
Everything written here is translated into all fourteen languages. The game's own words are a different matter: item names, passive skills and gem text come from the language files Grinding Gear ship, and Italian, Polish and Turkish have none. On those three the site's writing is in your language and the game's text stays English.
Builds and the tree
How do I post a build?
Sign in, then use Planner in the header to start one. Allocate the tree, add your gear, skills and quest rewards, write the notes, and save. It stays private until you publish it.
Can I share or embed a build?
Every published build has a link of its own. There is also an embed of the whole build and one of just the tree, so a build can sit inside your own site or a guide and still be clicked through.
Does it read Path of Building 2 codes?
Yes, both ways. The tree planner takes a Path of Building 2 code and gives one back, and the gear editor takes items copied straight out of the game. A tree can also be shared as a plain link.
What is the tier list?
Builds ranked S to D by the people who play them, for the patch that is live. It is a starting point for picking something to play, not a verdict on anything you are already enjoying.
Data and tools
Where does the passive tree come from?
From the tree Grinding Gear publish themselves, so the nodes, the paths and the numbers are the game's rather than someone's redraw. Clicking a node allocates the path to it, clicking again refunds it, and the Credits page lists everything else the site is built on.
What is in the database?
Every unique, skill gem, base item, passive and ascendancy, each with a page of its own you can link to. Search from the header reaches all of it.
Where do the prices come from?
From the in-game Currency Exchange, which means they are what people actually traded rather than what they asked for. The exchange publishes in hourly batches, so a price can be up to an hour behind.
Which loot filter is this, and how do I install it?
NeverSink's filter for Path of Exile 2, in all seven strictness tiers, exactly as written. The Filters page has the download and the install steps for Windows and for Linux. The studio on the same page opens any filter, yours included, so you can read it, change a rule and export it again.
Is this current with the live patch?
The game data is rebuilt as Grinding Gear publish it, and the Tracker page carries their announcements and every patch note with the dates on them, so you can see for yourself what has landed and when.
Account and community
Can I write for the site?
Yes. The Creators page lists who writes here, and the application form is on the main site because a creator account covers both games. Published guides and builds carry your name and link back to your profile.
What do the badges mean?
They mark the InfinityBuilds team (INF), VIPs, our staff writers and partners (Herald and Affiliate), and members who subscribe to Mekuna on Twitch. A badge means the same thing on both games.
Can I change my profile?
Yes. Your display name, avatar, bio and links are set in your account settings, which live on the main site because one account covers both games. What you set there shows up here on everything you publish.
Something is wrong. How do I report it?
Use the Report a bug link in the footer, on any page. You can attach a screenshot, and it reaches the team directly.
