Privacy Policy

InfinityBuilds is a community-run fan site operated from France, and this portal covers Path of Exile 2. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Grinding Gear Games. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how Venatus advertising supports the site, and the rights available to you under GDPR and French data-protection law.

Who we are

InfinityBuilds is operated by Infinity Team, a community of players based in France. The data controller for the purposes of GDPR Art. 4(7) is Infinity Team. The contact person for privacy matters is Mekuna; reach us via the Discord server linked in the footer.

Data we collect

We only collect what we need to run the service:

  • Account information. Your email address and display name when you sign up, plus the avatar URL provided by your sign-in provider (Discord, Google, or Twitch).
  • Content you create. Builds, guides, comments, favorites, and any text you write inside the planner.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser user agent, and basic request logs kept for security and abuse prevention.
  • Aggregate usage data: anonymous or privacy-conscious page-view and feature-use information that helps us improve the site.
  • Advertising data: when ads are enabled, Venatus and its advertising partners may process browser, device, IP address, page-view, ad-interaction, approximate-location, and consent data for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping, reporting, security, and fraud prevention.

Why we use it

We use this data to provide the service, keep accounts and builds available, secure the platform, prevent abuse, improve features, translate published build content, and support the site with advertising. We do not sell account data or build content. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers only where consent or another lawful basis allows it.

Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6)

Account data and content you submit are processed to perform our contract with you under GDPR Article 6(1)(b). Security logs and limited analytics are processed under our legitimate interest in operating a safe and reliable service under Article 6(1)(f). Optional cookies, personalized advertising, and ad measurement that require consent are processed under Article 6(1)(a).

Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers and partners needed to operate, secure, translate, or monetize InfinityBuilds:

  • Our hosting and edge-delivery provider (covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable).
  • Our authentication and managed-database provider (EU region).
  • xAI Grok (machine translation of build content into other languages. Content is sent only after a build is published, and only the publicly visible text is translated).
  • Venatus Media Limited and advertising partners such as demand partners, ad exchanges, supply-side platforms, measurement providers, fraud-prevention providers, and consent-management providers.

Advertising and Venatus

InfinityBuilds uses Venatus to display advertising. Venatus Media Limited participates in the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework and identifies itself as vendor ID 26 in its public privacy notice. Venatus and its partners may use cookies, local storage, pixels, IP address, browser and device information, page URL, ad impressions, ad interactions, approximate location, and consent strings to select, deliver, measure, limit, secure, and report on advertising. You can manage advertising choices through the consent controls shown on the site where available, your browser settings, and Venatus privacy choices at https://www.venatus.com/privacy-policy and https://www.venatus.com/privacy-choices.

Build translations

When you publish a build, the public text fields (title, description, notes) may be sent to Grok (xAI) to generate translations into other supported languages. Private drafts are not translated. The footer carries an ongoing attribution to Grok for these translations.

Your rights

Under GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to define directives concerning the use of your data after death, and to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL. Www.cnil.fr) or any other competent EU supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us via Discord (link in the footer). We respond within 30 days.

How long we keep data

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days; published builds may be retained in anonymized form (no author attribution) if other users have favorited or referenced them. Security logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Children

InfinityBuilds is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the site.
